The Dahn Yoga Korea Club has been made possible because of the support of many people including Master Jo Mi Lim, Instructor Kee Nam Kim, the students at the Brooklyn Heights Dahn Yoga center, the New York Diamond Sutra Recitation Group, and the Korean Cultural Society. This page shows the photos of the club's sponsors and selected photos taken at club meetings. To see all the photos of a particular meeting, click the Club Meetings link and click the date of the meeting.

Diamond Sutra Recitation Group

The Korea Club is also grateful for the support provided by:

NY Diamond Sutra Recitation Group -- The DSRG has been an amazing source of support for the Korea Club. It provided the Brooklyn Heights center with books about the Korean heroes King Sejong and Yi Sun Shin, CDs by Hwang Byungk (a traditional Korean musician), booklets on Korean food, and DVDs. Most importantly, the DSRG provided a wonderful traditional Korean lunch for our first meeting on May 5 and gave us a fashion show of traditional Korean attire ("hanbok")! Their support and participation made for a most spectacular opening of the Korea Club!

Meeting Photo Highlights

May 5 Meeting

Go to the May 5 meeting page to see more photos. Click photos below to enlarge.

  • "Arirang": Korea Club Theme Song -- Master Jo, Keenam, Roberta Holder Mosley, and the DSRG helped the Korea Club members learn the traditional Korean folk song called "Arirang" which is now the theme song of the club!

  • Hanbok -- The DSRG went to a great deal of trouble to wear hanbok (traditional Korean attire) so Korea Club members could see it first-hand! The colors, materials, and styles were so beautiful!

  • Lunch -- Perhaps the highlight of the meeting was the delicious lunch prepared for the Korea Club by the DSRG!
They brought enough food to feed an army! They also brought us booklets on Korean food and recipes!

June 2 Meeting

  • Concert at Metropolitan Museum  -- Traditional musician Hwang Byungki performed with five colleagues who played the kayagum, a drum, and an awesome flute-like instrument. In addition, the concert included a marvelous singer. Hwang is touring the East coast with a stop in NYC after playing in Boston and before going on to Washington. DC. The Diamond Sutra Recitation Group provided the Korea Club with a CD by Hwang Byungki which is played at our club meetings and which is heard on the homepage of this site.

  • Dinner at HanGawi  -- After the concert, the group went to HanGawi in Koreatown for dinner.
HanGawi is an organic, vegetarian restaurant and will be the site of the Korea Club's August 4 meeting!

  • Dessert at KoryoDong  -- The day ended with some members of the group going to KoryoDong, a wonderful pastry shop in Koreatown, for dessert.
